The village is Collonges la Rouge on account of the red stone used on all the buildings.
Taken of a large post card
Just like Sarlat, there was a cafe or tourist shop down every alleyway.
Drove back home through heavily wooded countryside with hardly any farmland .
Today we drove a few kilometres south to the Dordogne river where we found a wonderful little cafe. We were the only ones there and we had a lot of fun trying to converse with the delightful old man. Found that a Saudi family own the chateaux next door as well as the few buildings in the village.
The river is wide and slow moving with some small chateaux dotted around the tops of the cliffs surrounding the river.
Back to Sarlat for lunch and a walk around.
We will really miss this little town where we feel quite at home.
On to Toulouse tomorrow to hand the car in. Not sure of the model but it is a very sporty Mercedes but too low to the ground for me.

What a beautiful place- what a lucky find. Great photos.
