Port Isaac

Port Isaac on the northern coast of Cornwall is one of the places we really wanted to see.
We booked in to the Old School Hotel right in the centre of the village. This is the place where they filmed the TV series Doc Martin which makes it very touristy. There were only about three bedrooms in the hotel so we were lucky to get one. It was the original primary school and was shown in the TV series.

 This is a sweet shop but is converted into the pharmacy for the Doc Martin series.

Alot of the locals don't seem too fussed about their town being put on the map. Some we spoke to said they don't even watch Doc Martin.

Two years ago Pen and I stayed in Padstow but didn't even get to see the waterfront as it was so crowded and we couldn't get a park. This time it was still very busy but we fluked a park right beside the main area. It was yet another very attractive seaside town made famous by Rick Stein having some restaurants and shops there.

It was good to see that there are still young craftsmen around.
