We are just a 15 minute walk along a cliff path to the town. Megavissey is a very old fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall -- near St Austell. Fishing is still a big industry and there are numerous restaurants serving mainly fish.
During the day there are lots of tourist wandering down the narrow streets and the waterfront but in the late afternoon it is easy to get a park and a table in a restaurant.
Low tide in Megavissey.
It's amazing how many people have their dogs with them in the streets and in restaurants. I'm sure the dogs don't particularly enjoy it either.
Yesterday we drove south to St Ives but the place was full of people and we couldn't get a park. The beach looked quite good though and lots of day trippers arrived by train.
Penzance down on the south coast was a lot quieter. Got good views of St Michaels Mount across the bay. Unfortunately the tide was wrong for me to be able to walk across.
Mousehole just down the coast is another quaint little smugglers cove but again full of tourists, narrow streets and lack of parking.
Today is our last fuĺl day in Cornwall so we had to see The Lost Gardens of Heligan which is only 5 km away.
For 400 years it was owned by the same family. A vast garden had been established over the years but after World War I the place ran into disrepair and neglect. In 1990 two men rediscovered the place and set about restoring the garden and surrounding buildings and now it is a thriving tourist attraction. The vegetable gardens supply the associated cafe and a team of 20 workers look after the vast gardens. They also host outdoor concerts during the summer.
Tonight we had a meal in the Sharkfin restaurant down by the harbour. It was our last night here and we booked the window table so we could "people watch". There have been some real sights in our travels.
We even enjoyed the occasional Cornish pasty.

Love your photos of Cornwall! I loved watching Doc Martin because of the scenery and quaint buildings.
